Mother's Day

The day we are all supposed to spend time with our mother(s) and let them know we care.
I wish my Mom was still around.. I miss calling her every Sunday.. not just on Mothers Day.. and finding out about all things going on in her life.

I realized one thing about my mom when I was about 30 years old. It was that ... she was a regular person. A woman who met a man, fell in love, had four wonderful children... and had been through all the same issues that I was experiencing at that age. I realized that my Mom was not this perfect person who always fed us.. clothed us (even though some of the things she made .. made me look goofy) .. took care of our cuts and bruises... BUT..

was a woman who had the same ups an downs that everyone else did... had the same desires and wishes that others had.. that loved to laugh and see people have a good time..

That is when my Mom and I began talking to each other ..not as mother and son...but as friends. It was a little weird at first to listen about her latest boyfriend.. but it made us much closer.

So.. MOM... since you are in the heavens with Dad.. your other son (my brother).. your Mom and Dad... have a great party. I know someone will be grilling steaks.. and drinking beer !

LOVE YOU MOM !!
