As one of the 50 million people who was without power due to the BLACKOUT OF 2003 !!.. I must say.. WHAT A BUNCH OF WIMPS !!

I can not believe the people who were crying about no gas.. STAY HOME !!
Or complaining they have no cash and the banks are closed... STOP USING THOSE ATM's !!
Where do I get some food and water, nothing is open... PREPARE IT YOURSELF !!

One person actually drove over 50 miles here in the Detroit area.. to find a cup of coffee !! AARRGGHHH!!
Where do all these completely self centered people come from ?
Are these the children of the freeloving, open care free people of the sixties ?
Talk about the pendumlum swinging too far the other way !!

As soon as we had power back.. it was out for an entire 25 hours... many people in the neighborhood were watering their precious lawns, cranking up their AC, doing a load of wash and using the electric clothes dryer... running out to buy gas for thier BA_SUV's....

I guess you can tell I am fed up with Americans... we are so spoiled and self centered... that sometimes I believe we deserve the animosity and hate we get from around the world !!

WOW !! The sub-units descended upon us.. and now have left. It was like a mini-hurricane. Here one day.. and gone the next. They are fun to have around.. the house was fun and lively. Thank goodness the weather was great.. and we found plenty of interesting movies to watch. We also went to see the worst team in baseball.. The Detroit Tigers. They were losing 4 - 0 and then in the ninth inning.. they teased us. .with some runs.. and lost only 4 - 3.

Sub-units are doing great.. my son is getting ready for year #2 in law school. It is very interesting to have conversations with him.... I hope I have helped him with his finances.. a little. Law school.. ain't cheap ! Living in San Diego.. ain't cheap. Being a young 25 year old male.. ain't cheap.

Daughters stayed a couple of more days.. and we had a great time cooking and playing cards. They left today.. and now it is quiet. The quiet is nice.. but the family time is great, too! It was very interesting watching a movie - Secretary - with a very adult theme with my two daughters and one of their friends (female). Times really have changed.

I will try to add more to this site.. more frequently.. BUT.. I am still trying to figure out what I can contribute.. more than my old socialist, democratic ideas. Maybe that is what I should contribute.. a little common sense of man helping man.
